Puppies

Astro, Ch. Kaviak's Big Bang Theory, enjoys a howl at 4 weeks old.

We're planning a litter out of Betty later this year. Email kaviakmals@yahoo.com for info.

I also have a couple of lovely retired show dogs available as pets to the right homes.

If you're interested in an adult malamute or in being added to my list for one of Betty's puppies, please fill out my application (below).

Puppy Application

Read my policy on choosing puppies here.

There are a number of significant advantages of owning a purebred pet from a responsible hobby breeder. A purebred companion dog from a reputable breeder is one that:

1. Is of a known and recognizable breed that matures as expected.

2. Is happy, healthy, fully vaccinated and well socialized.
3. Has the temperament and personality traits that are expected for its breed.
4. Comes with lifetime “tech support” from a breeder who knows the breed well.
5. Comes from parents (and in most cases, several generations of ancestors) who have been screened for inherited disorders.
6. Has a return policy written into the sales contract.
7. Has a breed organization to help should re-homing ever become necessary.
8. And if not for show, comes with a SPAY/NEUTER contract.

Here's an awesome article written by malamute breeder Jen Effler-Leveille (one of the good ones!) on how to recognize a good breeder.
